Ilka V. Chavez has spent the last thirty years in various leadership roles honing in on her leadership, management and organization transformation skills and unique ability to work with others to improve work quantity, quality, and performance.

Ilka is a result-driven leader with demonstrated superior problem solving, leadership, and communication skills in corporate to community settings. She is a proven leader and executor of complex initiatives across large organizations. Ilka is highly skilled in fostering and maintaining partnerships among government entities, the private sector, community organizations and academia. She is proficient at analyzing complex regulations, issuances, correspondence and policies, interpreting data from various sources, managing grants and contracts, developing budgets, and developing interagency and intercommunity partnerships. Through her diverse project portfolio, she has also developed strong interpersonal and public speaking skills.

Ilka has dedicated her career to inspiring individuals and leaders to collaborate and to “connect the dots” to find a common thread and improve an organization’s ability to solve problems, address day-to-day challenges, and ensure that shortfalls do not go unattended. Ilka applies a proactive and creative approach to all assignments and projects. She is a master in leading teams thoughtfully and collaboratively to successful outcomes. Ilka’s goal is to achieve individual and organizational health and promote the collective and separate success of an organization and its members. Ilka has a passion for creating and implementing a culture in organizations that maximizes the productivity and potential of its individuals. Continuum of vision from the board room to the depths of the organization is her forte.

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt trained. Trained over 80 team members on the Lean Six Sigma Methodology (White and Yellow Belt Trained.) Reduced the cycle time for responding to Secretarial correspondence from 18 to 3 days within 3 months.

  • Led the development and completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Electronic Transaction and Code Sets regulation. The impact of the HIPAA regulations was extremely significant. By promoting the greater use of electronic transactions and the elimination of inefficient paper forms, the administrative simplification regulations were expected to provide a net savings to the health care industry of $29.9 billion over 10 years.

  • Successfully led the transformation and culture shift of several organizations including most recently a national vaccine policy organization, emergency preparedness organization and a key decision maker in transforming a school system, to mention a few.
